  in military base of karadjordjevo there were 14 conscientious objectors before the escalation of war in march.

  twelve of them were nazarenes or jehovah's witnesses and two which did not declare religiously.

  they were working on "non-military" tasks but on military premises and for the benefit of the army.

  sometimes a good slap in the face is a wake-up call for delusional cultists. Niceyface works for some people, blunt works for others.
  Believe me Kent is responsible for more people finding out the truth about that cult than most of the rest of us put together. Those who need coddling will find plenty of that too. Insisting on a uniform 'kid gloves' approach is shortsighted; uniformity is a cult requirement.

  Those allegedly vulnerable people are in one of the most hate-filled organizations in the world. It's good for them to find out that their religion is hated as heartily as they hate others. If their hearts are honest, they won't run & hide at the healthy expression of that response. If they aren't, they will use any excuse to reject the facts they will find here.

  any know anything about the Rosicrucian Order

  i'm considering applying to their order.

  this time i wanna do some homework but they are a secrect society very quiet and unscandalish.. what do you think.

  I knew a fella once who joined the Rosicruscians. He forever after cut his onions top to bottom instead of across the middle. Really. He said the remaining onion half would stay fresher in his larder if he did so. He said he learned this from his secret studies.

  Isn't it nice to know they teach such practical life skills?

  COC: When Free?

  i have seen coc posted on the internet in german, and possibly in at least one other foreign language.. coc has been out in english for 18 years.

  i obviously don't know any of the particulars regarding ray's financial needs, his deal with the publisher, or the annual sales.. however, i would like to make an appeal to the various interested parties that coc be posted on the internet.

  surely there are other parties interested enough, with financial resources to compensate ray equal to his annual income from the sale of coc.

  My understanding is that Ray does not do computer/internet at all. The guy who responded to my email was, as I said, very snotty, and said right out that CP doesn't give a crap about anyone online. They have threatened to sue anyone who continues to offer entire chapters of the book online. The expressed sentiment was that they sell quite enough books without any help from 'free samples' on web sites. They also said that Ray and other authors don't wish to be associated with any former JW websites as most are not the sort of Christian they endorse and some are outright atheist. (They are after all basically a fundy outfit.)

  I don't have any beef with Ray selling his books. As has been said, the man needs to support himself and his wife. Instead of trying to figure a way to put the book online, I suggest you buy a copy for yourself and one for your local library. The book does tend to be stolen though. I had to order it through interlibrary loan because the local library's copy was stolen. Jdubs are SOOO embarrassed at having their dirty linen aired...and it is after all theocratic war strategy to steal the enemy's ammo.

  You can order books from your library online, and pick them up at the front desk. (If I asked them to, my library would deliver books right to my door since I am disabled.) Nobody has to know but your librarian, and they probably won't rat you out the smelders.

  COC: When Free?

  This won't happen. I emailed the publishers with some questions a while back, and received a really really snotty reply telling me basically that the Internet if of no interest to them at all. They told me that they have no intention of giving it away for free, and anyone that does more than quote under the fair usage guidelines will be prosecuted. If you don't want to buy the book tough tit, it isn't going to be online ever. They just don't care about the 'many many JWs' who might benefit from being able to read it anonymously.

  If it's important to you for more people to read CofC you could donate a copy to your local library. The publishers are definitely not interested in anything but their bottom line.

  The coffin was made, filled, nailed shut, buried, corpse already long rotted to bone dust, by the time I read CofC...it served as a nice grave marker for my cult life though...

  I left because I just couldn't pretend that crap was 'truth' any more. It all seemed to me to defy logic and common sense. They told me my heart was treacherous and my 'critical thinking' was dangerous; my mind & heart screamed at me that no group as arrogant, smug, and superstitious could possibly be God's Sole Channel of Communication. It was a moral dilemma, and took me a long time to figure out. I eventually went with my moral imperative, and bailed out. Best thing I ever did, despite the residual cult fear & guilt, which vanished as I replaced them with accurate information.

  Years later I found the internet and the factual evidence to confirm all my suspicions. CofC was just part of that confirmation.

  Life is much better since I jettisoned the whole 'imaginary skydaddy' scenario and joined the real world. No guilt, no cult fear; just life, unvarnished. Clean & simple.

  this is especially for farkel, whose good name has been stolen but who has not been robbed of the affection so very many of us have for him.. recently we've been treated to philosophy that has been a bit opaque to many.

  i thought i'd expose you to the german philosopher johann wolfgang von goethe (sounds somewhat like gert.uh).

  he really makes sense most times, once in awhile i think him out to lunch.

  No no no no no! Most of us would rather have root canal surgery without anesthesia than actually READ that crap Duns spouts! We just scan it to see if he has buried any factual information amongst the turds. SO far he hasn't offered any, except for some inadvertent clues as to his real identity; that and the fact that he has proven to be a hypocrite, dunning others for their alleged drinking habits then bragging about his own 'libation' as he posts.

  Your posts, on the other hand, are rational, humane, often incisive, always germane, and eminently reasonable.

  The reason his posts get more responses is the same reason a mosquito gets more reaction, when it lands on your arm, than a butterfly does.

  NP: Jehovah is NOT doing anything about this horrible situation. MEN are, good men, decent men (and women of course!)who refuse to wait on Jehovah-do-nothing as Brooklyn commands.

  Justice will be served, but Jehovah won't be the author of that justice. Human compassion and determination will. Give credit where it's due, and tell the old do-nothing 'thanks for nothing creep.'

  call me a neopositivist, a semi-verificationist or semi-falsificationist, but the claims made by "silentlambs" reminds me of the shakespearean line that was quoted in the creator book published by the wtbts.

  that is, the contentions of silentlambs seem like much "sound and fury" that in truth signify nothing.

  i am of course referring to the supposed dateline show and the claims made about some members of the gb of jehovah's witnesses.

Farkel wrote that satirical piece a couple years ago and you cut & pasted it without giving credit and didn't bother to correct those who assumed you were posting original material. Is this an example of your honesty & integrity in action? Or are you just terminally clueless about netiquette?

  Duns claims he doesn't have time to deal with all the arguments and facts thrust at him; he does however have time to respond ad nauseum to (and with) jibes and personal remarks. He also has time to wax grandiloquent on his chosen rants. He never has time to fully and honestly respond directly, though, to pointed questions.

  This follows a pattern set by a certain JW apologist on another forum. THIS IS NOT COINCIDENCE. Let those with discernment take note; those who refuse to learn from their past history are always doomed to repeat it. Duns has not yet learned form his past mistakes. He's still a sneaky bastard and smugly impervious to facts.

  I honestly wonder how men of this stripe can ever sleep at night. While he enjoys his online intellectual dilettantism, he ignores all reminders that people are suffering irreversible griefs as a direct result of his religion's policies. He is keenly aware that if he were honest and posted under his real name, he would yet again fall under the critical scrutiny of those whom he defends. Thus, once more, he invents 'personae' with which to enjoy the dangerous savor of 'touching the unclean thing'. The hypocrisy of this behavior apparently escapes him.

  This highfalutin form of trolling disgusts me. Duns and his other 'personae' should get some collective balls and face a discussion of the facts with one genuine voice. The same voice that publicly endorses the Watchtower Organization!
